What to do when you would like to sell items at Thompsons
Our team of experts will be happy to speak with you about any item you may wish to sell. Simply bring your items to our auction house at any time during our specified opening hours (see times on our home page). You do not need an appointment and will be seen by one of our experienced team, our friendly, helpful staff will be happy to provide any information or advice you need.
Alternatively, if you don’t have time to come and see us in person, or have a larger item or entire house contents, then we can visit you at home to carry out a valuation, or you can email or send us a photograph of your item.
Of course as a seller you may need some help getting your items to auction, so we offer a helpful and personal service and can arrange collection from your home.

Commission is charged at the rate of 20% on the hammer price of each Lot with a minimum charge of £3.50 plus VAT per Lot whether sold or not. Lots selling for £17.50 or less, or unsold will attract a charge of £3.50 plus VAT
All items held for sale or storage are insured and a charge of 1% plus VAT will be levied on each lot.
All electrical appliances will be tested by the Auctioneers electrician, in compliance with current regulations, and a charge of £2.00 plus VAT per item will be levied.
